Summary About the Position: Fort Gregg Adams is Home of Logistic Warriors, is a US Army installation located near the Tri-Cities of Petersburg, Colonial Heights, and Hopewell, VA. Fort Gregg Adams is south of Richmond, the Capital of Virginia. There are a number of important missions accomplished by the activities located here. The missions accomplished at Fort Gregg Adams include combat and training development and the professional development of military personnel through various training programs. Responsibilities Serves as the Civilian Deputy, senior advisor and consultant to the President of Army Sustainment University (ASU). Directs, schedules, coordinates, and participates in management reviews to assist progress or resolve problem areas. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the university with authority to direct mission activities while providing leadership and oversight for academic programs, planning and compliance, and the core functions of the University. Provides guidance and assistance in the planning, developing and execution of all programs for Army Sustainment University (ASU) senior leaders and staff elements. Advises on business, resource planning, allocation and execution, training and training support while working to resolve controversial and complex issues providing justification for procurement acquisition action. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) providing executive leadership and management over complex studies of various operation; 2) overseeing organization hiring plans, facilitating cluster and targeted hiring in areas of strategic importance, to ensure that staff and faculty recruiting and hiring are supportive of organization's needs; 3) managing organizational support functions such as budget, manpower, logistics, facilities, programs and procedures, instructional technology, professional development and personnel and security; AND 4) evaluating the effectiveness of the organizational elements in terms of mission accomplishment and technical competence. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level position in the federal service (GS-14). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Attention to Detail Manages Human Resources Oral Communication Planning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
