Staff Accountant

Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant in Fairfax, Virginia, 22031, United States. As a part of our team, your role will involve managing and processing various financial transactions and tasks, as well as working with different software such as QuickBooks, Activate, and MS Office. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.Responsibilities include: Verification and recording of invoices into the system for processing Management of invoicing and cash applications Execution of bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy Preparation and presentation of financial reports to aid in decision making Recording of journal entries in the general ledger Overseeing month-end close activities for accurate financial reporting Development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures Utilizing software tools such as QuickBooks, Activate (inventory management program), and MS Office for various accounting tasks. Requirements Must hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in a staff accountant role or similar. Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required. Experience with Bank Reconciliations is necessary. Familiarity with General Ledger management. Ability to create and manage Journal Entries. Experience in Month End Close procedures. Proficiency in QuickBooks software is essential. Skilled in Account Reconciliation. Ability to Prepare Financial Reports. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience in Policy development is preferred.
