The scope of the program includes cloud modernization strategy, managed services, process development for cloud service provisioning, user story capture and refinement, and enhancing cloud capabilities to solve mission problems.This position is based onsite at Hanscom AFB, MA. Will consider remote candidates willing to travel to the worksite 40% of the time.In this role, a typical day will include:

Collaborate with architects and clients to establish cloud economics tools and platforms based on Federal and Industry Cloud FinOps best practices.

Develop agency and program specific framework for FinOps principals, personas (roles), domains (areas of focus) and roadmap for Cloud FinOps to provide financial recommendations for cloud usage.

Collaborate with staff on cloud improvements. Create and present financial models and reports. Continuously monitor cost of services and perform Total Cost of Ownership studies.

Manage central financial control center to promote cost transparency.

Identify and categorize services by sub-accounts.

Help develop the billing and analytics engines of the centralized decision-making portal.

Meet with individual customers to review and optimize their specific cloud instance spend as directed by the Government.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEEDRequired Qualifications:

Education:Bachelor's degree

Required Experience:10+ years of experience with IT systems to include 5+ years of experience with cloud systems; 3+ years of cloud financial/economics experience; 3+ years of project experience in a multi-cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI)

Security Clearance Level: ability to obtain a DoD secret security clearance. Interim secret or active secret clearance preferred. Clearance is required to start.

U.S. Citizenship Required

Ability to work onsite at Hanscom AFB at least 40% of the time

Required Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of specific FinOps tools such as KION, Apptio, CloudCkr and cloud native cost optimization tools

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience working with stakeholders and development teams.

Strong communication skills, oral and written, to convey cloud technologies and solutions to customer personnel.

Experience with relational databases, data extraction, and data analysis tools.

Understanding of Federal Government IT procurement processes.

Understanding of industry best practices related to Cloud resource tagging and tagging enforcement thru automation.

Desired Capabilities and Experience:

Certification:FinOps Certified Practitioner or Professional

Proficiency in Cloud lifecycle management including cost management, Producing Cloud estimates (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI), assisting with funding requests, tracking burndown rates and budget/cloud usage alignment.

Ability to define FinOps Governance processes and standards ensuring numbers have traceable data lineage and controls including ability to reflect on issues such as when costs don’t necessarily match up to AWS console views because of lag.

Airforce FinOps background is a plus.

The likely salary range for this position is $160,389 - $272,667. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
