Req ID: RQ194361Type of Requisition: RegularClearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: NonePublic Trust/Other Required: NACI (T1)Job Family: Functional ExpertsSkills:Child Protection,Child Protective Services,Program ManagementExperience:5 + years of related experienceJob Description:Child Protection SpecialistThe Child Protection Specialist supports a federal agency that provides services to various communities across the United States.Adopting foundational principles in the fields of social work and child and youth development, the federal team in which this position is embedded promotes the safety, stability, and well-being of children and youth in the United States through impact analysis, protection coordination, program management, and education, outreach, and awareness function areas.Position Duties:Child Protection Coordination Efforts:

Responds to child protection needs involving children and youth, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure connection to agency services.

Helps manage a shared resource inbox to directly, or through coordination with relevant agency staff, respond to inquiries.

Supports development of procedures to facilitate referrals for services, including, but not limited to referrals to a variety of agency-funded programs.

Supports coordination efforts among different teams and divisions of the agency, as well as with other federal partners and external stakeholders to advance protection equities of children and youth.

Identifies, makes recommendations, and supports the development of new opportunities, programs, policies, and relationships to advance the protection of children and youth served by the agency.

Performs other duties as assigned and necessary to advance the protection needs of children and youth served by the agency.

Special Projects as Assigned:

Provides support to federal team by recommending policy and program interventions to improve the safety, stability, and well-being of children and youth.

Supports the development, coordination, and training of staff and external stakeholders regarding children and youth served by the agency.

Fosters relationships within the federal agency, with other federal partners, and stakeholders to advance the safety, stability, and well-being of children and youth served by the agency.

Reviews and analyzes data and assists with the preparation of reports, fact sheets, and informational materials relevant to children and youth served by the agency.

Coordinates responses from external stakeholders regarding services and outcomes of children and youth served by the agency.

Reviews existing data collection efforts within the federal agency to analyze trends in children and youth outcomes.

Supports the federal team’s work with agency divisions to ensure children and youth outcomes are incorporated into programmatic reporting requirements.

Supports the federal team’s partnership with the agency’s monitoring and data divisions to identify and develop research and learning opportunities as well as data reporting and analytic needs to better understand impacts, challenges, and ongoing gaps affecting children and youth served by the agency.

Assists in the development of new and ongoing management of agency grant programs.

Develops and manages internal information management systems for federal team.

Performs other duties necessary to ensure the successful implementation of programs.

This position can be remote.Position Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related discipline is required; Master’s degree in Social Work is preferred.

If Bachelor’s degree, requires 5-8 years of experience; if Master’s degree, 3-5 years of experience.

Direct experience working in state child welfare, child protective services, child welfare investigations, foster care, or other child welfare capacity (2-3 years of experience).

Experience working with immigrant or refugee communities, preferably with immigrant or refugee youth (2-3 years)

Experience with project management (2-3 years of experience).

Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

Strong communication skills (written and oral).

Experience providing trainings and technical assistance to various stakeholders.

Skilled use of MS Office products, plus experience with spreadsheets and databases.

The likely salary range for this position is $79,747 - $105,800. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
