SimVentions, consistently voted one of Virginia's Best Places to Work, is looking for Junior Software Application Developers to join our team and provide software engineering in an Agile development environment as part of an integrated contractor-government team developing weapons system software and naval information systems.
Responsibilities: The Junior Software Application Developers will develop website(s) with specific attention toward content governance, web systems maintenance, and life-cycle deliverables. Specifically, this person will investigate, assess, and implement technical solutions for UNIX operating systems, web-based business applications, and database-driven business applications with integrated SQL and Oracle SQL. Required Skills & Experience: At least one (1) year of knowledge and/or application development experience (academic courses and internships will be considered) in the following areas:- web strategy and operational activities of the website(s) with specific attention toward content governance, web systems maintenance, and life-cycle deliverables
- Planning software application development in an UNIX operating system server environment supporting web-based business applications, database-driven business and Oracle applications and Oracle SQL
- Programming, deploying and managing enterprise software on a server environment using the following languages/platforms; Perl, Java, Apache web server, Tomcat server
- Programming web-based applications built with extensive use of JavaScript and cascading style sheets.
- Experience creating web page designs using HTML
- Working knowledge of XML and NetBeans.
