Ability to efficiently and independently use the plasma burn table, hand grinder, hand scraper, sledge hammer, tape measure and caliper to perform tasks associated with position.
Able to locate and reference all work instructions pertaining to current job or project.
Sense of urgency and accountability
Metal Material stretch-out and lay-out process
Advanced blueprint reading and problem solving skills required
CAD drawing software for cutting material
Intermediate math skills (fraction/ decimal calculations)
Download programs via disc, flash drive or direct connect.
Perform cuts and required nesting as defined by production.
Clean and de-burr plate as needed.
Previous work experience in a heavy industrial or construction environment is preferred; however, it is not a requirement
Knowledge of various types of construction and or heavy equipment operation preferred.
Must be able to safely operate machinery and run overhead crane
Must be able to recommend improvements in productivity and quality
Must be able to change all parts in torch head.
Must be able to make minor adjustments to programs
Know weight of cut part and determine weight of raw material components in order to transition material in a safe manner. Basic computer knowledge of Window type operating system
Perform daily operational checks and perform cleanup at beginning and end of shifts
Ability to meet production schedule.
HS/GEDCompletion of an apprenticeship in machining technology or equivalent experience with an emphasis on Plasma Tech operation.3+ years of experience in Plasma Tech operation
Proficient using Cad/Cam machine programming software applications
Solid understanding of geometric dimensions, tolerances, and symbols
Conceptual Skills, Process Improvement
