Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Project Manager in the manufacturing industry. The role will be based in Chesapeake, Virginia, United States. As a Project Manager, you will be tasked with overseeing various projects, most notably government contracts. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of project management, contract management, risk assessment, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Responsibilities: Assist in managing government contracts to ensure timely and successful delivery. Utilize project management skills to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. Apply contract management skills to manage all aspects of contract administration, ensuring contractual obligations are met. Use Microsoft Excel for data analysis, report generation, and financial tracking. Assess and manage risks associated with each project, ensuring potential issues are identified and addressed promptly. Collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve project objectives. Ensure compliance with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Standard Items and familiarity with American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) rules and regulations. Oversee project schedules and resources, coordinating team activities to keep projects on track. Regularly report on project status, including milestones achieved and upcoming tasks. Handle any arising issues or uncertainties in the project, ensuring smooth project progression. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Project Management role within the Manufacturing industry Proficient in Project Management methodologies and tools Demonstrated skills in Contract Management Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting Experience in assessing and mitigating risks in projects Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering, or related field is desired Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar is preferred Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and motivating teams for success Familiarity with industry standard quality and safety regulations in manufacturing Willingness to continue professional development and stay current with industry trends.
