We are a local Remodeling company with a long history of serving Charlottesville, Virginia and the surrounding counties. Our company is in need of another lead to join our team. Applicants must be comfortable with doing other light duties, all of them! (electrical, plumbing, etc.) along with daily carpentry jobs. Must have a reliable transportation, most trade tools as well as a positive attitude, and clean appearance. Must have references. Must also be reliable, respectful, be able to communicate well with others and follow instructions. Ideal candidate is able to work on their own when needed and be able to manage all projects with a crew member.

Carpenter Duties and Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches and to understand project specifications

Take measurements and calculate the sizes and amounts of materials needed for the project

Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material according to measurements

Build window frames, doors, staircases, wall framing, and other structures by using raw materials or pre-constructed items

Knowledge of, and ability to perform light electrical and plumbing is a plus

Install hardwood floors, siding, cabinets, drywall, and insulation

Inspect products and conduct repairs or maintenance as needed

Comply with all company and governmental safety guidelines

Carpenter Requirements and Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Completion of a carpentry program at a vocational school or carpentry apprenticeship preferred

5+ years of professional carpentry experience a plus

Strong working knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods, including installation and construction

Proficient in using power and hand tools as well as measurement tools

Able to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

Good physical condition, stamina, and dexterity
