We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Certified Horticulturalist / Head Gardener to lead the management, maintenance, and continued development of the gardens and grounds of a prestigious private estate. The estate features a diverse range of formal gardens, ornamental plantings, vegetable and cutting gardens, lawns, trees, water features, and woodland areas.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of garden care and landscape management across the estate
Develop and execute seasonal planting plans, soil management, pruning, and propagation strategies
Collaborate with the estate manager and principals to bring their vision to life and ensure the gardens reflect the highest standards
Implement sustainable and organic practices wherever possible
Monitor plant health, manage pest/disease control, and ensure irrigation and water features function properly
Maintain inventories, source new plant materials, and manage garden budgets
Supervise use and maintenance of all horticultural tools and equipment
Required Qualifications
Certified Horticulturalist (or equivalent formal training; RHS, NOFA, ASHS, or similar)
Minimum 5–7 years of hands-on horticultural experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or head gardener role
Broad knowledge of ornamental and native plants, trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, and vegetables
Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills
High attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics
Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Experience on private estates, historic properties, or high-end gardens
Familiarity with organic/sustainable practices and integrated pest management
