Louisa area mining company is seeking a quality-control lab technician to work in a mining/industrial plant setting. Duties include collecting samples inside the mineral processing plant and outdoors at the mine stockpiles, lab analysis and microscope analysis of samples, working with the mining crew to assure quality of mined material, cleaning & organizing lab facilities, etc.
Basic math and organizational skills are essential. Simple data input and computer skills are necessary.
Applicant must be able to work efficiently alone and with others. The majority of the time will be spent indoors doing lab analysis of mineral samples for quality control purposes. The remainder of the time will be spent outdoors collecting samples and monitoring activities. Applicant must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs. and perform other minor physical labor.
