Amentum/Delta Bridge is looking for a talented and motivated Technical Writer to support our client-based programs teams in the Washington Metro Area. As a Technical Writer at Amentum Delta Bridge, you will collaborate closely with engineering teams to create, edit, and maintain technical documentation, work with the Business Development team to respond to RFIs and RFPs, and work across programs to standardize corporate documentation. This role involves converting complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly materials for internal and external use. Your work will support engineering projects and ensure all documentation adheres to industry standards andcompany guidelines.Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with engineers to develop and update technical documentation, including manuals, system specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and troubleshooting guides.

Translate complex technical information into clear, concise documents tailored to the target audience.

Maintain documentation throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project standards and deadlines.

Support the development of training materials, user guides, and installation instructions.

Review and edit content for grammar, clarity, technical accuracy, and current company methodology.

Ensure documentation aligns with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.

Manage version control and the distribution of technical documents, proper filing and archiving.

Communicate with program managers to gather information about new technologies equipment, or systems in use by the engineering teams.

Assist in organizing technical workshops and presentations by preparing handouts and visual aids.

Work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and project management, to gather necessary information for

documentation.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, Communications, or a related field.

2-5 years experience as a technical writer, preferably with experience in SOP development.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain details to non-technical stakeholders.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite and documentation tools.

Strong interpersonal skills in working with groups and individuals.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience creating drawings and diagrams for technical purposes, or ability to learn.

Background in IT systems or ability to learn.
