Vermont Bean Crafters is looking for someone to help in our food production kitchen. The bulk of work is centered around processing produce, weighing ingredients, mixing batter, and portioning bean burgers up to four days a week for 8-10 hours each day on average. Depending on applicant, we also need assistance packaging dry beans, staging orders, inventorying, and sundry administrative tasks as needed.
All team members take turns doing dishesand there's a lot of them and work together to ensure the floors and surfaces are cleaned and sanitized. This is good, hard, dependable, meditative work that amounts to thousands of pounds of organic products nourishing the bellies of people from all walks of life each week. You know, the stuff dreams are made of.
The position is Monday - Thursday, 20-30 hours a week, although there is some flexibility around scheduling with the right person. We try to adapt to individuals’ needs to the extent possible.
In order to do this job, one needs to have the ability to lift 50 lbs. and be on one’s feet for 8 - 10 hours per day. A general competence is a must.
Compensation involves a base-pay of $18 that will ratchet up incrementally if the arrangement is working for both parties. That base is layered with some real good food to take home each week plus free lunch, paid-time-off accrual and a SIMPLE IRA plan with matching contributions.
