Essex Equipment is a family owned rental business for homeowner and contractor rental equipment and supplies located in Essex Junction and Berlin, VT. We currently have an opening available for an Equipment Intake Technician at our Essex Junction facility. The Equipment Intake Technician position is critical to our business as they are normally the first face the customer sees when they enter the yard and the last person the customer interacts with before they leave. They are also responsible for the inspection of the equipment we rent to keep it operational, maintained and safe for our customers.
Primary duties for the Equipment Intake Technician include:
Greeting customers in the yard to help unload/return equipment. Call in equipment rental number, hours and amount of fuel to the front counter on the radio.
Receive radio communication from the Rental Counter for pieces of equipment going out on rent, call in the rental item number, instruct the customer on the use of the equipment if necessary and help the customer load the equipment.
Bring equipment from the storage pad to the workbay to turn (test, clean, minor service/maintenance, "Ready to Rent" tag and put back on line to rent).
Perform inspections on tow-behind lifts and complete paperwork with accuracy.
Take initiative to keep the overall appearance of the facility neat, clean and safe.
Complete set-up of new rental items to prepare for rent.
Buildings and grounds maintenance.
Candidates must be able to communicate effectively, multitask and have the ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds. This is a dynamic, demanding job that requires organizational skills. Past forklift experience and mechanical aptitude preferred, but will train the right candidate. This is a great start with the ability to learn quickly and advance to other positions within the company.
