We need a hands-on care provider for my 96-year-old father, a World War 2 combat vet, who seasonally lives in Greensboro, VT. Morning assistance transferring from bed to wheelchair, wheelchair to reading chair, and assistance with wheelchairing to our dock on Lake Caspian. Also, a.m. & p.m. dressing/undressing and denture insertion plus showering every other day. Meals are simple as he just has cereal in the morning plus a fruit cup; soup with cheese board for lunch; spaghetti for diner or a frozen dinner. When we go out for dinner your meal gets paid for (Positive Pie, Blackbird Bistro, Parker Pie, etc.).
During the day dad reads online news then naps in the morning (sometimes) and usually every afternoon. So, one can spend a lot of time reading a book, etc. when he is doing these passive activities. There's good AT&T cell coverage on the property so you can smartphone, but Verizon requires connecting to our wifi. Preferences for non-smoker. His son will be on site to assist. Hours 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. any day of the week. Beautiful lake house with vacant upstairs; thus, if you need to travel from elsewhere in VT to perform this job you can stay overnight in a lake view bedroom and perform back to back shifts if you choose/prefer to make the commute worthwhile. $20/hr cash dependent on experience along with a $40 gas stipend if you're driving a ways. Guaranteed 13 hours a day even if dad goes to bed early. We shop at the local store and can provide your food while you're on shift. Also, canoe, kayaks, and paddle board if you want to get out on the lake for a break.
PS: picture is of dad receiving the Legion d'Honneur from France this April for his participation in liberating France during WW2, where he served as his unit's French interpreter till he was wounded. He'll likely be the only Knight (Chevalier) you may meet in your life : )
