DescriptionDuties and Responsibilities

Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate MIG/TIG welding techniques.

Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and schematics to determine the appropriate welding process.

Interprets mechanical drawings including weld requirement symbology.

Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness.

Works with conventional and precision measuring instruments.

Finish product through use of various manual and power grinding tools.

Performs routine maintenance on grinding equipment.

Produces products in allotted time frame/ delivery standard.

Familiar with and complies with all safety requirements and protocols.

Ability to pass required welding certification tests.

May prepare the materials and set them up for a welding device or robot.

May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in an area of specialty.

Support the safety and quality programs by following all accompanying rules and established processes.

Other duties as assigned.

Shift

1st Shift - Overtime opportunity on Friday's when applicable.

Monday - 5:30AM to 4:00PM

Tuesday - 5:30AM to 4:00PM

Wednesday - 5:30AM to 4:00PM

Thursday - 5:30AM to 4:00PM

Friday - As Needed

Skills and Qualifications

Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints.

Ability to use a variety of hand tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and bander.

Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measure, box caliper, slide dial caliper, and micrometer.

Ability to convert fractions to decimals and vice versa.

Ability to convert metric to English.

Provide high-quality work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.

Speak, write and comprehend conversational English.

Strong attention to detail.

High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Must pass weld test certification.

Robotic welding experience is a plus.

Relevant apprenticeship, experience, or vocational training is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50lbs repetitively throughout the course of a shift.

Ability to bend, stand, twist, and stoop for prolonged periods of time.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Ability to maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision.

Subject to environmental conditions that occur indoors and outdoors which includes but is not limited to exposure to changing temperatures, loud noises and vibration from use of equipment and the following:

Hazards: Variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

Atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin- fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation.

Oils: There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
