Position Details Advertising/Posting Title Outreach Professional - New American Youth on the Rise (NAYR) Diversity Statement The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the institution. Posting Summary The Outreach Professional position will develop, coordinate, and implement the day to day and mission-driven operations of New American Youth on the Rise ( NAYR ), a grant-funded education attainment and workforce development initiative designed to increase representation of girls from immigrant backgrounds in health science fields at the college level.This position will implement, assess, and deliver a multi-year plan of proposed activities and outputs for a grant. Coordinate program priorities and activities across four grant initiatives/outcomes – Mentorship, Curriculum and Program Evaluation, Community Outreach, and Science Enrichment.Track program grant budget. Lead grant compliance efforts and liaise with IRB , NIH and other regulatory organizations. Coordinate events and outreach for program. Create opportunities and identify mentorship group, program (student) participants, and and program consultants.Prepare required status reports for submission to the funding agency, university and other organizations. Coordinate outreach and collaborative efforts with internal and external constituents, local community resources, and agencies to promote information exchange representing NAYR with a diverse range of local, regional, and national partners. Support NAYR leadership’s strategy about program priorities and future directions.New American Youth on the Rise ( NAYR ) is an education attainment pathway program for middle and high school girls from Chittenden County Vermont immigrant communities designed to prepare students for successful transitions into college careers in health sciences. The overarching mission of NAYR is to enhance health equity for Chittenden County, Vermont immigrant communities by 1) increasing representation in the healthcare workforce that reflects their racial/ethnic backgrounds and lived experiences, and 2) increasing collaboration and trust between the academic health center and the local community by demonstrating clear investment in the local community.Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Bachelor’s degree and two to four years of relevant work experience. Experience with community organizing. Experience with program administration Proficiency with Microsoft Office suiteDesirable Qualifications Master’s Degree in education, public health or other related field strongly desired Experience working with immigrant and refugee communities required. Working with Chittenden County, VT immigrant and refugee communities preferred. Experience with grant writing preferred. Experience with educational attainment and/or workforce development programs highly desirable.
