Position Details Advertising/Posting Title Office/Program Support Generalist Diversity Statement The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the institution. Applicants are required to include in their cover letter information about how they will further this goal. Posting Summary Provide administrative support for the Chair of the Department of Biochemistry and their activities as Principal Investigator of the Northern New England Clinical and Translational Research Network and management of departmental faculty and and staff. Coordinate and facilitate administrative, academic, research, fiscal and service activities to support the Chair’s ability to provide leadership for all programs. Serve as a liaison and coordinate Biochemistry Department initiatives with faculty and staff throughout the College of Medicine, the UVM Health Network, and with community stakeholders, the National Cancer Institute and a broad spectrum of federal and private funding agency/resources (grants and contracts). Report directly to Biochemistry Chair while supporting members of the department and Department Administrator.Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Associate’s degree with one to three years of related experience, working knowledge of software applications used to support office functions, and familiarity with Internet resources required. Effective interpersonal skills, organizational and communication skills required. Effective spelling, grammar, punctuation and proof reading skills required.Desirable Qualifications Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications used to support area operations, and familiarity with internet resources desirable.
