As part of the global engagement division, a FamilySearch event coordinator supports the strategic objectives of FamilySearch International by planning and executing small to large scale international events including RootsTech, the largest family history event in the world. RootsTech is an annual, full-scale conference that has historically taken place in Salt Lake City and London, attracting 15,000 - 30,000 in-person attendees. In 2021 and 2022, RootsTech evolved to a virtual-only event garnering millions of participants from over 240 countries and territories worldwide. A FamilySearch event coordinator is responsible for generating meaningful and effective content while creating a world-class experience for attendees across the globe.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop creative content that supports the objectives and goals of FamilySearch International
  • Manage assigned content creation efforts including concepting, theming, researching, scripting, editing, and publishing.
  • Source and book/contract main stage keynote speakers, entertainment, user-generated content, and partner materials.
  • Plan and execute on logistical aspects of production.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders (including global engagement and legal) to produce, review, and execute copy for contracts, marketing collateral, and other media.
  • Coordinate requirements and logistics of main stage production, recording, and broadcasting with all key stakeholders.
  • Assure that event presence supports the FamilySearch brand and messaging, while meeting the event specific strategy and goals.
  • Ensure timely execution and delivery of key conference production deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5+ years of experience in event management, preferably in logistical and main stage production aspects.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in marketing, communications, or event management.
  • Ability to negotiate contracts and agreements with third-party agencies and event partners.
  • A high level of integrity, professionalism, autonomy, and self-motivation.
  • Excellent project management and time management skills.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with a high degree of professionalism and ability to manage expectations both internally and externally at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent problem solver – proactively pre-empts and seeks out solutions to challenges.

WORTHINESS QUALIFICATION

Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
