Come be a part of our team and our mission as a Software Engineer!bioMerieux - Salt Lake City is looking for a talented and engaged Software Engineer to work with the product software development teams to configure the systems OS and software, as well as maintaining the security profile of the system. The successful candidate will work with a project team to scope, design, and develop the OS configuration for BioFire products. They will have excellent engineering and communication skills, and experience working as an active member of project teams.Our team works on desktop and web-based applications for both clinical and internal customers. We focus on quality, emphasizing clean and maintainable code. We work in a highly collaborative environment, from pair programming with fellow software engineers to problem solving with colleagues from other departments. You will refine current skills, gain new skills, and grow your career while working on challenging and dynamic projects.Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities -
Read and interpret software specifications and develop against those specifications
Write and maintain high-quality code
Ensure, whenever possible, that software defects that are discovered can be reproduced
Continually update technical knowledge and skills
Participate effectively in technical reviews as both a reviewer and reviewee
Foster a collaborative and cooperative work environmentQualifications -
Training and Education: Requires a Bachelor of Science in an engineering, scientific, or technical field.
Experience: 2+ years of work experience software development or a related field.Skills -
Technical Skills:
Experience with C#/.NET (or another object-oriented language)
Interest in Test Driven Development
Desire to be involved in analysis, design, research, and development
Windows OS experience
Source control
Defect tracking
Build systems
Cybersecurity for medical devices
IT/IS experience
