OverviewGovCIO is currently hiring for a Security Onboarding Specialist to support clearance accessibility for the Internal Revenue Service. This position will be a fully remote position within the United States with core hours of operations from 8 AM to 5 PM ET.ResponsibilitiesCoordinates with business and technology teams to initiate and collect required information from new hires in order to initiate background checks for access to IRS information once cleared. Provides functional expertise in identifying, evaluating, and submitting accurate data. Requires knowledge of computer operations, processes, and workflows.
Interacts with personnel to solicit onboarding documents and works with the personnel to submit accurate documents for submission
Submit onboarding requests using tools such as Dropbox, Airtable, SharePoint to monitor to conclusion the establishment network accounts, and request government furnished equipment (GFE, PIV)
Work with teammates to monitor onboarding adjudication status, network account requests, PIV status, and escalate risk issues with the appropriate contacts.
Track and report status of onboarding and offboarding, cumulative personnel, cumulative counts of personnel, GFE issue counts, and PIV card status on a recurring basis. Weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly yearly, or ad hoc
Create an onboarding checklist for new employees
Create and conduct new employee orientation presentations
Submit offboarding requests or relocation of employees and contractors in conjunction with IRS policies
Support IRS operations by delivering communications messages regarding operations topics such as timesheets, holidays, all hands announcements.Support archiving processes for all contract deliverables.
Support ad hoc requests as required to support contract operations analysis and reporting, communications.
Develop concise presentations and visualizations as needed using PowerPoint.
Prepare, coordinate, manage and lead program briefings and reports as needed.Maintaining databases and electronic filing systems including MS Teams, SharePoint, and Excel documents.
Assist in defining and implementing onboarding metrics as needed to support team.
Documents service requirements for process improvements to enhance the onboarding/offboarding workflow.
QualificationsRequired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's with 2 - 5 years (or commensurate experience)
Extreme attention to detail to avoid errors and omissions on documents to be submitted for initial IRS clearance.
Methodical in approach to workflow and tasks for greatest efficiency.
Analytical Thinking – Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis and the ability to determine the root cause of problems and create alternative solutions that resolve the problems in the best interest of the business.
Effective Communications – Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors; ability to effectively write/technical writing; and ability to translate technical approaches and methodologies into actionable tasks.
Tools - Able to use MS applications to conduct day to date business - Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Outlook are used extensively.
Prior experience in database entry and management.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience with government agency clearing processes
Experience working with Airtable or other database applications
Advanced organizational skills for tracking and monitoring stages of completion for all staff.
Proven ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
Project Management skills
