1. Core HR Abilities:
HR manager must be able to perform essential HR duties such as:
Recruiting talented employees,
Managing onboarding and training for new hires,
Completing payroll,
Handling employee issues, and
Retaining good employees.
2. Effective Communication:
HR Manager must have excellent verbal and writing skills to enhance company communications. HR Manager must actively listen to and understand the perspectives of employees to facilitate a candid discussion between staff and managers.
3. Relationship-building:
HR Manager must emphasize relationship building within and between departments to create a cohesive working environment.
4. Adaptability Skills:
HR Manager will actively participate in decision-making and workforce strategy and must be able to forecast the need for changes.
5. Technological Skills:
HR manager must be able to identify and adapt to new technology and possess excellent computer skills.
6. Critical Thinking:
HR manager must be able to analyze data and assess circumstances to provide insight and direction for the workforce and to evaluate and negotiate employee benefits and workers compensation.
