Provide primary technology support for multiple complex information technology solutions as a subject matter expert in the related technologies, business processes, solution security, and system disaster recovery.

Provide oversight and auditing for other service owners to ensure the technology is performing as expected and is adequately managed, backed-up, secured, and documented.

Collaborate with division coworkers, clients, and internal stakeholders.

Analyze and assess existing systems and processes, identifying areas for optimization, and proposing innovative solutions to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance overall performance.

Administer programs with Microsoft and Linux operating systems.

Complete virtualization processes with: (a) VMware vSphere; or (b) Microsoft Hyper-V; or (c) Proxmox VE.

Conduct in-depth data analysis to understand system behavior, trends, and patterns, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

Design solutions by developing comprehensive system design documentation, including functional specifications, data flow diagrams, and wireframes, that outline the proposed solution’s technical details and functionalities.

Utilize Microsoft SQL server to maintain and administer databases.

Oversee the testing phase to validate the functionality and performance of the developed systems, ensuring they meet the specified requirements and quality standards.

Participate in project planning, timelines management, and resource allocation to deliver projects within deadlines and budget constraints.

Provide training and support to end-users on subsystem functionalities and features.

Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve City systems and processes.

May supervise subordinate staff, including scheduling workload.

Ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.

Identify, evaluate, and resolve employee concerns.

May conduct performance evaluations and enact discipline if needed,

Assist with division staffing decisions, including hiring, and firing personnel.

Maintain and review all reports, work records, work specifications, and appropriate documentation.

Perform other related duties as required.

What are the minimum qualifications?

Provo City will honor equivalent combinations of job-related education/experience [substituting each 1 year of post-secondary education/training for 6 months of experience] as meeting minimum qualifications.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

Either one year of experience as a Systems Analyst II or four years of experience in computer information systems.

Application administration experience with; (a) Harris CityView; (b) Hyland OnBase; or (e) other bona fide, comparable program in a job-related area of expertise as approved and accepted by the Human Resources Department.

Supervisory experience may be required.

A valid, lawful Driver License may be required.

What is the selection process?

This position is open until filled and will be closed when sufficient, qualified applications to proceed with a competitive process have been received.
