DescriptionRobert Half Management Resources is looking for an Accounting Manager with government accounting experience for an interim role in Summit County. You will be supporting our client that is restructuring their Finance and Accounting function. Reporting directly to the CFO, the candidate will be overseeing the month-end close process, as well as oversight of A/P, A/R and payroll. The company is looking for someone who can roll up their sleeves and help with day-to-day accounting and finance functions, and potentially provide some insight and guidance in creating and enhancing policies and procedures.Requirements:
General to highly complex professional accountant work assignments including specialized/general analysis of accounting functions possibly including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, capital expenditures analysis
Review general journal entries and accounting ledgers; possibly preparing balance sheets, making adjustments and closing entries
Knowledge of GAAP and GASB compliance
Review grant awards documents for compliance and prepare annual schedule of grant awards
Provide input for, and assist in annual budget preparation
Prepare periodic closing statements and various reports
Assists in development and completion of Annual Financial Report (CAFR)
Considerable knowledge of Governmental Accounting and budgetary practices

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience
5+ years of recent relevant financial experience, including supervisory/management
Solid understanding GAAP and accounting controls with practical knowledge of GASB
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries
Understanding of government accounting policies and procedures
Customer service oriented communication skills
Additional Qualifications:
Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and/or payroll
Budgeting and forecasting experience a plus
