Responsible for managing daily operations to maximize productivity and meet daily operational goals.
Manages effective labor plans to ensure proper staffing levels according to budgets for overtime, full-time and temporary labor
Ensures productivity measurement standards are met
Identifies and resolves critical distribution issues for inbound and outbound processes
Implements improvements for operational flows and reassigns staff as necessary
Creates an environment that fosters open and positive team communication
Facilitates team meetings
Participates in the interviewing and hiring process for distribution center associates
Responsible for ensuring staff are properly trained
Supports all efforts and initiatives across the operation
Performs safety observations in conjunction with job observations to coach and counsel associates on proper safety procedures
Leads investigations for safety incidents and injuries by performing root cause analysis to remove future potential safety hazards
Plays an active role in the participation of all safety programs and acts as a role model for all associates.
Oversees and implements company and OSHA guidelines and programs to contribute to a safe working environment for all associates
Serves a backup for other floor managers as necessary
Participates in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management System
Computer skills, proficiency with Google applications, MS Word & Excel
Ability to resolve problems
Strong time management, organizational, planning skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Basic math skills; detail-oriented
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and written form
