Your OpportunityThe Advisor Services Technology (AST) team is responsible for developing and maintaining technology solutions for our Advisor community. This opportunity is a position in AST's Service and Operations (S&O) team which is responsible for engineering technology to support multiple internal teams to empower our business success. You will be in a role 70/20/10 (Scrum Master/Project Manager/Minor Technical Tasks) as the company transitions to Agile. As a Scrum Master, you will practice principles of Agile and facilitate a team predominantly based in the U.S. and a small contingent offshore. Your work will include coaching team members, proactively eliminating barriers, facilitating team delivery, and collaborating with other teams. You will work closely with your team, Product Owner, Development Manager, and peer Scrum Masters to support both Agile culture, minor Project Management tasks and Behavioral Driven Development (BDD). - Provide leadership, direction and coaching to the team by encouraging them to adopt and mature good Scrum processes according to the Scrum Guide
- Create a culture whereby the team is self-motivating, self-organizing and self-sufficient
- Adhere to principles of Agile, SCRUM and Agile Manifesto
- Encourage Kaizen
- In partnership with the Product Owner, track and communicate to Stakeholders information such as team velocity, Sprint/release progress, impediments, team successes, etc.
- Own, drive, facilitate cross-team collaboration with Project Managers
- Wear multiple hats and indiscriminately provide assistance where needed
- Help the engineers with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) tasks
- Skills utilizing management, servant leadership, and empathy
- Excellent communication and social skills
- High enthusiasm, motivational and high-energy
- Thorough understanding and experience in Agile
- SCRUM Master certification
- Fearless attitude and willing to try new ideas
- 7+ years of experience in a software development preferably involving cross-team dependencies.
- 5+ years of experience owning and managing customer expectations, project schedules, status and reporting and change management.
- 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master.
- Have led teams in a large, complex enterprise environment where successful projects potentially involve more than 1 Scrum team.
- Knowledge of Project Management fundamentals
- Strong grasp of software development lifecycle and technology
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field, or related experience.
- DevOps experience: continuous integration, continuous build, continuous delivery tools and techniques
- Understanding and experience using Behavioral Driven Development (BDD)
- Lean Agile development concepts
- Prior experience using Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket)
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment
- Experience working in a financial services organization
