We are looking for an Shipper and Packer of Art work.

We are an art shipping company looking to add an in-house Shipper and Packer of Art work for the right individual. Experience with basic shipping and receiving procedures, excellent communication, and customer service skills, and light construction skills are required. Must have these skills to apply for this position if you do not you will not be considered.

WHO WE ARE:

We are an art delivery service business, and since 1998 we have been providing very specialized services to the Fine Arts Community, including pack-and-ship and door-to-door hand delivery of all types of fine art and antiques utilizing our fleet of customized vehicles and trained professional drivers.

Our hand delivery service, Soft Wrap service offers the highest level of care and safety available for shipments. Our professional staff picks up fine art and antiques and personally deliver them anywhere within our service area. Items never leave our hands, eliminating the headaches and risks often associated with shipments via common carriers. We understand the challenges of transporting fine art and antiques and have the experience and dedication to provide safe, timely service.

We offer two major routes throughout the year where all trips begin and end in Santa Fe. This allows us to transfer works between shuttles and thereby move your artwork between our entire service area.

Our southwest service area includes all major cities and suburbs in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. Our southwest shuttle service alternates weeks between California and Texas.

Our east coast shuttle departs from Santa Fe once a month.

We also provide custom box building, museum-quality wood crates, worldwide shipping services and we can ensure shipments worldwide. We offer temperature controlled art storage of collections and we can assist with the packing of the estate and large collections for moving or storage.

Responsibilities Include:

Art Handler’s purpose is to assist in all aspects of the handling of artworks including art movement, (de)installations and storage, as well as the preparation and the packing of artworks, sensitive to the needs of art while being proactive in applying currently approved methods of packing, handling, and installation techniques.

Building custom boxes and wood crates.

Answering phone calls, taking customer orders, and giving shipping quotes.

Making local deliveries.

Occasional over the road trips lasting 3 to 4 days.

Inventory Management.

Trip Planning.

Provides friendly and professional service to customers, both on the phone and in person.

Works effectively on their own and as a group with co-workers and clients

Able to pack and handle the artwork for transport and installation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

Basic knowledge of art transport, packing, and storage options

Strong technical art handling skill set and vocabulary

Strong communication/listening skills, both written and verbal

Good sense of logistical organization and timing

Experience in handling artworks, knowledge of fixings/hanging systems, art transport, packing and storage

Awareness/understanding of the different handling needs of paintings

Awareness/understanding of supports and frames

Light construction skills including the use of air stapler, miter saw router and other hand tools.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Knowledge of the Santa Fe area.

Experience using Microsoft Office products including Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Must be able to lift 100 lbs.

Must be dependable, responsible, and have own daily transportation.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test and sign a Non-Compete and Confidentiality Agreement.

Must have a clean driving record no speeding tickets, accidents, or DUI in the last 3 years.
