About Us:
We are a custom metal fabrication shop that also has a capacity for carpentry creating custom, high-quality architectural finish. Our shop is located in San Antonio near highway 90 and S .Zarzamora.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, motivated shop laborer to join our team. This position supports all aspects of our fabrication process, from material handling, light welding to shop maintenance, and offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a custom fabrication environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist fabricators, welders as needed
Some MIG welding done with direction from a lead fabricator, project manager and/or shop drawings
Material procurement, loading and unloading metal stock
Operate basic shop equipment, usually in relation to cutting steel.
Prepare work areas, maintain shop organization, and handle basic shop maintenance
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a shop or construction environment preferred, but not required
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools a plus. Being able to determine wether you should use the band saw, chop saw and an angle grinder is helpful.
Willingness to learn and advance your skills.
Be able to take direction and follow instructions without taking offense that someone is telling you "You're doing it wrong".
Reliability! Your own transportation is a plus. This is not the workplace for inconsistent presence while giving a variety of excuses for why you can't make it that day.

Schedule:
Full-time, Monday – Friday. Expect 40 hours/wk, but some days requiring staying passed 5 P.M. if the work needs to be done. Occasional weekends can turn into work days.
