Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Purchasing Agent in San Antonio, Texas. As a critical member of our team, you will lead procurement strategies, manage vendor relationships, and make cost-effective purchasing decisions.Responsibilities: Managing procurement strategies in alignment with the company's objectives to maximize cost-effectiveness and efficiency. Evaluating suppliers and maintaining robust vendor relationships to assure quality and reliability. Negotiating contracts, prices, terms, and conditions with vendors to secure beneficial agreements. Monitoring inventory levels, predicting demand, and ensuring timely procurement to prevent shortages or surplus stock. Creating and analyzing reports on purchasing metrics, budgets, and supplier performance to identify potential areas of improvement. Collaborating with various departments such as operations, finance, and logistics to facilitate seamless supply chain management. Ensuring adherence to company policies and industry regulations in all purchasing processes. Swiftly and professionally resolving any delivery or supplier issues. Keeping abreast with market trends, price fluctuations, and emerging suppliers. Requirements Minimum of 3 years experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a related role. Proficiency in budget processes to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions. Familiarity with buying processes to streamline and improve procurement procedures. Demonstrable experience in vendor selection to ensure the best quality and cost-efficiency. Ability to process and manage purchase orders efficiently and accurately. Strong negotiation skills, with a proven track record in contract negotiations to secure advantageous terms. Experience in employee training to ensure all team members understand and adhere to purchasing procedures and policies. Experience in supervising, with the ability to lead and manage a team effectively. Comprehensive understanding of purchasing functions, including planning, implementation, and maintenance. Proven expertise in purchasing management to oversee and control all purchasing activities within the organization.
