Duties may be generally described as planning, assigning, coordinating, directing, scheduling, evaluating, verifying, training, and processing of information. Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and methods for the area of responsibility is required. Initiative and independent judgments are frequently exercised in formulating procedures or methods, and in program coordination. Work is performed under general supervision within University policies and procedures. Job performance is based on overall operational effectiveness.Requisition ID:38751BRTravel Required:NoneMajor/Essential Functions:As a Senior Business Assistant, you are instrumental in helping to facilitate the day-to-day operations of the Mechanical Engineering department. Your main duties as Senior Business Assistant will include, but are not limited to:

Submitting all travel applications/vouchers for students, faculty and staff, and handling procurement card reconciliation, monitoring and checkout for both personal faculty and the department.

Maintaining travel spreadsheets for each fiscal year.

Act as the point of reference for graduate students on travel applications and submissions, by guiding and educating.

You may be asked to assist the business manager for the setup of events. You may need to assist the department chair with scheduling of meetings and spaces.

You may be asked to create/maintain spreadsheets for both departmental operational and educational use, designing group spreadsheets, data entry, etc.
