Responsibilities will include working with chemists, engineers, and analytical personnel to execute safe operation of analytical laboratory equipment, troubleshooting equipment issues, providing technical service, and maintaining lab equipment. Available position requires detail-oriented individual with the ability to work safely in a team-oriented environment. Some physical lifting is required. The successful candidate will utilize, as required, personal protective equipment such as respirators, protective footwear, hearing protection, eye/face protection, gloves, chemical and/or fire-retardant clothing. #HPCPResponsibilities :
Conduct analytical testing in support of CPChem business lines and production facilities to ensure that accurate and timely results are provided
Following established quality, safety and environmental procedures and policies
Maintaining and operating lab instruments and equipment in a safe and professional manner
Keeping work area clean, safe and organized
Working collaboratively with chemists, engineers, analytical personnel and customers to meet business needs
Comply with all health, safety and environmental practices and policies.
Required q ualifications:
High School Diploma/GED with at least with 5 years laboratory experience.
Strong commitment to safety
Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
Ability to complete assigned projects in a safe and timely manner
Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong oral and written communication skills
Must be detail oriented and able to complete work with a high degree of accuracy
Capable of standing for long periods of time on concrete flooring, bending, stooping and other physical tasks
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in chemistry or equivalent education
Experience working with hazardous chemicals
Experience working in an analytical laboratory setting
Experience working for a petrochemical or chemical company
