Job Overview:
We are currently hiring for a Mechanics assistant. This position involves assisting mechanics with various tasks in a repair shop. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have a clean driving record.
Resume must show at least 1 year auto mechanic work experience.
If you do not list auto mechanic job experience on your resume, it will be rejected.
Responsibilities
Assist with routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotation, battery checks, fluid top- ups, and electrical repair)
Disassemble and reassemble of vehicle and lawn equipment components to replace parts under the guidance of a skilled mechanic.
Basic diagnostics on vehicles and motorized power equipment under the guidance of a skilled mechanic.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
Electrical experience in auto or small engine repair is a plus
Perform routine and non- routine tasks servicing motorized lawn equipment.
Clean and Lubricate equipment to allow proper functioning.
Drive vehicles in an out of shop for repairs.
Requirements
Ability to conduct basic preventive maintenance on vehicles and motorized equipment.
Hands on experience working in a mechanic shop as a helper or assistant.
Must be at least 21 years of age (for insurance purposes) with a valid drivers license.
Must have mechanical aptitude and demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and procedures.
Able to follow instructions from senior mechanics.
Communicate effectively with team members regarding service updates and vehicle status.
Able to work alone and exceed deadlines.
Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Must be physically able to lift, bend, kneel, stoop, twist and stand throughout the day.
Bilingual in Spanish language is a plus
Starting pay is $20+ depending on experience
