Job Description:Position SummaryThe Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting technical problems, diagnosing, and management of surgical instruments within assigned hospitals.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the daily processing and management of surgical instruments including: decontamination of instruments, instrument inspection, preventative maintenance and repair/ replacement processing; instrument and set reassembly; instrument set transport and retrieval; and inventory maintenance
Communicate effectively with customers; listen to customers’ needs and take immediate action to meet them
Collaborate with appropriate parties to identify the drivers leading to business success
Proactively develop and maintain technical knowledge in specialized area(s), remaining up-to-date on current trends and best practices; maintain applicable certifications
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while providing flawless transactions, services and products; manage monetary assets and other resources to optimize cost effectiveness

Job Requirements/SpecificationsEducation and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Required:
High school diploma or equivalent work experience
Previous sterile processing or operating room experience
Preferred:
Certification from the International Association of Healthcare Central Sterile Materials Management (IAHCSMM), or Certifying Board of Sterile Processing Professionals (CBSPD), or Surgical Technology
Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and ability to learn company specific programs
Ability to be available for on-call and rotating weekend and holiday schedules
Ability to be available for some local travel
Ability to pass vendor credentialing process (initial and as is periodically required) and screening requirements to be credentialed at a hospital/health care facility
Knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile processing, instrument management, and/or logistics and scheduling
Two years’ experience working in an operating room or other medical experience

Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding)
Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for duration of work shift
