Accounts Payable Coordinator

We are seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Accounts Payable Coordinator.

Reporting to the Financial Services Department Manager, the Accounts Payable Coordinator will be responsible for receiving, processing, validating, and auditing invoices against purchase orders for products and services purchased by the District and also perform a variety of other financial administrative duties.

Essential Functions and Duties:

Receive and enter all financial information for expenditures using the financial systems.

Verify invoice pricing, balances, and expiration dates. Note discrepancies and contact appropriate personnel or vendors for adjustments.

Distribute invoices to departmental personnel for approval.

Receive invoices from the Auditor’s office and prepare financial account coding for payment.

Monitor purchase orders for cancellations to contracts that have been completed or expired.

Respond to internal and external requests such as reimbursements, invoices etc.

Compose, type, edit department letters, memos, reports, and other documents.

Prepare financial journal entries as needed.

Perform other duties that may be added or changed as the course and scope of the job directs.

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

One (1) year experience in landscaping, vegetation maintenance, herbicide application, labor work, or a closely related field.

Valid Class "C" Texas Driver’s License

Knowledge Skills, and Abilities:

Good verbal & written communication skills.

Can effectively communicate with coworkers and the public.

Must be able to read and follow written instructions.

Can use a variety of hand tools such as rakes, shovels, machetes, hand saws etc.

Work well in an outdoor setting.

Work well with a team in a field environment.

Work independently with limited supervision, relative autonomy, and general review.

Be a self-starter; assume ownership in completing assigned tasks.

Write/record legible notes of activity and correctly complete required forms.

Solve mathematical problems that may be required in normal work situations.
