Description
Financial services company seeks an experienced first chair litigator to handle commercial collections in arbitration (more than $100,000 each). This position calls for a 1-2 year commitment for 20-40 hours a week. Galleria area offices.
Responsibilities:
- Handle a series of arbitration proceedings, taking the lead role.
- Prepare testimony, short motions, respond to motions, and organize testimony for final arbitration hearings.
-Handling of voluminous exhibits.
- Negotiate collections.
- Present witnesses or take depositions.
- Make appearances in courts and arbitrations.
The business has been in operation for 20+ years and is located near the Galleria.

Requirements:
- 10+ years of solid business litigation experience with a focus on non-AAA arbitration, which otherwise follows AAA Rules.
- Extensive experience in litigation with limited discovery and related motion practice.
- Strong organizational, research, and computer skills.
- Energetic and well-organized and aggressive. .
- Ability to make limited appearances in courts on motions to compel.
- Understanding of insurance matters is a plus.
