The Yard Associate is responsible for the stationing and retrieving equipment on the location's property. The role maintains a written maintenance schedule and may service equipment as necessary to ensure equipment meets all set specifications. The Yard Associate also inspects equipment prior to and after rental to document any lost and/or damaged equipment.
Education or experience that prepares you for success:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Experience with common construction and industrial tools preferred
Some experience and/or training in repair of mechanical equipment preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities you may rely on
Ability to communicate effectively with customers (written and oral)
Ability to perform basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc)
General mechanical aptitude

The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Setup and maintain a written maintenance schedule
Service, repair and/or rebuild equipment as necessary
Ensure that equipment meets all previously set specifications
Help wash and clean equipment for Shop Tech’s to be able to quickly service for next rental.
Visually inspect equipment prior to shipment
Inspecting equipment on all returns, noting any lost and/or damaged equipment on the return paperwork not previously noted
Returning equipment to the proper yard location (i.e. maintenance, damaged, rent ready, etc)
Successfully completed, understood and daily practice of all required safety and training
Perform daily inspection and maintenance on yard equipment and tools
General housekeeping of warehouse and exterior premises on a daily basis
Reporting of any unsafe acts
Attend all required safety meetings and training required
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to read and respond to common inquiries from customers and/or employees
Ability to perform basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide)

Yard Associate Duties
Daily
Inspect yard forklift first thing in the AM and fill out the daily inspection sheet.
Help and Support with Loading and Unloading Customers at the will call door/yard.
Walk Ready Line and check for rental ready tags and cleanliness of equipment.
Walk the fence line and pick-up trash and check for debris in the electric fence.
To monitor the Reservation Board to have equipment staged for shipments out.
If Equipment is set for next day delivery of electric Scissors/Booms/Forklift/Mini Excavator to have them plugged in and charged for next rental.
Notify Counter / Dispatch / Service Manager of any issues with order fulfillment.
To Unload any deliveries of incoming equipment and supplies and if it is new small tool equipment assist with unpackaging and assembly of the equipment.
Assist in the shop and directed by Manager or Service Manager in support of Service Tech’s.
WEEKLY
Start All Engines in the rental ready area to ensure that they start and run correctly. (Monday & Thursday AM)
Dump all trash cans in the shop, yard, fuel island and wash bay. (Wednesday & Friday)
Sweep Yard & Shop with Box Broom/Skid Steer and dump dirt into bin when done.
Clean out Wash Bay Pit and dump mud in the bin.
Make sure all small tool area is clean and organized.
Other Duties Assigned By Manager & Service Manager.
Attend All Safety Meeting and do any required online safety training.
Monthly
Review With Service Manager for getting assigned training for Tech 1 for continued learning and education to be able to advance.
And Always Stop Any Unsafe Activities and bring to the attention of Management.
