Position Overview: As a Shipping and Receiving you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the shipping and receiving process, from receiving incoming shipments to preparing and shipping outgoing orders. Your attention to detail and strong organizational skills will ensure that materials are handled efficiently and accurately, minimizing errors and delays.
Key Responsibilities:
-Receive incoming shipments of materials, supplies, and products, and verify their accuracy against purchase orders.
-Inspect received items for damage or defects and report any discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
-Prepare and process outbound shipments, including picking, packing, and labeling items for delivery.
-Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries and ensure timely shipment of orders.
-Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments using our inventory management system.
-Organize and maintain the shipping and receiving area, ensuring it is clean, safe, and well-organized at all times.
-Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and customers to coordinate shipping and receiving activities and address any issues or concerns.
Requirements:
-Previous experience in shipping and receiving or a related field preferred.
-Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately verify and record inventory.
-Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
-Proficiency in using computerized inventory management systems and software.
-Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members and external partners.
-Ability to lift and move heavy objects and operate material handling equipment safely.
-High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
