Maintenance Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic

The Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including, plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensures that the facility’s equipment (filler, capper, labeler, case sealer, case printers, drop packers, palletizers) and machines are maintained properly and working correctly.

Conducts routine facility inspections, logs equipment operating parameters and adjusts equipment as required.

Execute the facility’s maintenance program; identifies and analyzes equipment or machinery failures and takes corrective actions.

Provides technical training to production team members.

Support the coordination of work performed by outside contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants.

Assure that all safety systems are working properly, fans, alarms, gas detectors, fire suppression, etc.

Performs preventive maintenance and makes repairs to heating, ventilating, air conditioning equipment according to instructions such as replacing belts on motors, changing filters, bearings, etc.

Performs minor electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician such as replacing light bulbs and fuses.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities

Minimum 5 years mechanic experience.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Must possess an active forklift certification.

Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds at a time.

Prolonged periods standing and walking.

Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.

Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.

Ability to use hand tools and power tools.

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Monday - Friday (some overtime when needed)
