A Laser Operator primarily cleans the surface of steel and aluminum parts. A vital part of their job is ensuring the functionality of the laser by making sure the lenses stay clear of particles and the settings are properly entered.
Responsibilities
Fully understands the operating procedure and the proper setting up machine(s) for operation.
Start laser and make the proper adjustments when necessary to improve performance.
Troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance.
Perform quality control, complete the necessary daily reports, and report problems to supervisor.
Clean equipment daily and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
Assist distribution in the loading of parts as needed.
Ability to properly change the Protective and Focus lenses.
Carrying out safety checks on the Chiller and Laser.
Training new Machine Operator hires
An understanding of how to maintain Chiller and Laser.
Ability to work on their own and work well with others.
Knowledgeable of expected surface preparation for steel and aluminum materials.
Required to maintain a safe and clean working area.

Darkened glasses when the laser is in operation.
Gloves
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Speak and understand the English language.
Bilingual a plus (English/Spanish)
Basic written communication skills.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
A willingness to work late or early hours, weekends and overtime if necessary.
Remaining in challenging physical positions for long periods of time
Lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
