JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance in their homes within the Cypress, Katy, Spring, and Klein areas. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This position requires a nurturing attitude and the ability to work with diverse populations, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and those with memory care needs. You will empower clients to maintain their independence and dignity while remaining in the comfort of their own homes.
DUTIES
Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
Provide meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition and hydration for clients, adhering to dietary restrictions.
Assist clients with mobility, walking, and physical therapy exercises as needed.
Perform light housekeeping tasks, laundry, and maintain a clean, safe, and orderly living environment for clients.
Provide medication reminders and assist with adhering to medication schedules (Note: This does not include administering medication unless specifically permitted by state regulations and training).
Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
Drive clients to and from appointments, errands, grocery shopping, and activities using your own reliable transportation.
Observe and report any changes in clients’ physical, emotional, or behavioral conditions to the supervisor promptly and accurately.
Support individuals with disabilities by promoting independence while respecting resident rights and individual service plans.
Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and client families to implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
Follow proper procedures in emergency situations and respond promptly and positively to clients' requests for assistance.
Other tasks in line with senior and disability care.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in home health care or caregiving is preferred but not required (experience caring for a family member is a plus).
Familiarity with working with individuals on the autism spectrum, those with memory care needs, or individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous.
Knowledge of patient observation techniques and understanding of resident rights is essential.
Skills in meal preparation and maintaining cleanliness are necessary for this role.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to lift objects and assist with transferring and repositioning clients safely, while avoiding potential injury.
Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
Current automobile insurance is required.
Ability to pass a background check, DMV check, and drug screen.
Current CPR certification may be required (or ability to obtain certification).
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 1+ year professional or personal experience supporting individuals with disabilities, mental illnesses, or challenging behaviors may be required depending on the client's needs.
Must not have a felony or misdemeanor assault, nor any abuse, neglect or exploitation charge.
Compassionate, caring, patient, and reliable demeanor with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect.
