Job Description
As part of their work, bartenders prepare and stock work areas, prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes, and process payments. They must also possess detailed information of the drinks that they serve – this means that they must know what ingredients a particular cocktail has and also possess knowledge of specific brands.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
● Requirements
○ TABC Certified
○ Food Handler Card
● Customer Service
○ Greet patrons as they enter an establishment
○ Check with customers to ensure satisfaction
○ Monitor and observer customer experience
○ Identify and resolve any issues that customers may face during service
○ Check identification of customers in order to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
○ Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons.
● Preparation
○ Prepare and serve drinks as ordered
○ Prepare station for readiness
○ Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes
○ Peel, slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
○ Mix and garnish cocktails according to standard specs
● Sales
○ Process transactions using the POS system
○ Repeat order to ensure accuracy of order
○ Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons.
○ Respond to requests for beverage information and practice up-selling activities
● Payment Processing
○ Deliver receipt and change to the customer
○ Balance cash receipts
This position requires availability to work weekend nights.
