Staff Accountant

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity in Houston, Texas for a Staff Accountant. This role operates within the industry of finance, with a focus on inventory management, and requires skills in QuickBooks. The successful candidate will be involved in tasks related to journal entries, fixed asset inventory, inventory analysis, audits, and controls.Responsibilities: Conduct thorough inventory audits to ensure accuracy and integrity Manage and analyze inventory records in QuickBooks, ensuring data accuracy Prepare and maintain accurate journal entries related to inventory transactions Implement and maintain inventory controls to prevent discrepancies Conduct fixed asset inventory tasks, including tracking, recording, and reporting Handle any inventory-related inquiries in a timely and efficient manner Assist with inventory analysis tasks, identifying any issues or discrepancies and implementing appropriate solutions Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient inventory processes. Requirements Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role Proficient in performing Journal Entries Demonstrated experience with Fixed Asset Inventory Skilled in Inventory Analysis and conducting Inventory Audits Proficient in implementing and managing Inventory Controls Expertise in using QuickBooks for financial management and operations Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work Knowledge of current financial regulations and standards Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
