Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing design, mechanical, electrical, or plumbing construction management or administration, and serving as an owner's representative and support for operations and maintenance is a plus. Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.FunctionProvides technical guidance, organizes, and recommends elements of complex facility projects with a focus on Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection.ScopeImpacts Institutional construction projects and supports Construction Project Management as well as Operations and Maintenance.Essential Job FunctionsCoordinates and provides support and guidance to designated project team representatives. Manages appropriate reviews of all project documents during design phases. Supports Project Managers at specific campuses or sites in addressing planning, design and construction issues. Complies with applicable building codes and other regulatory requirements governing the provision of design services, such as Uniform Building Code, National Fire Code, and Texas Architectural Barriers Statutes. Complies with departmental and institutional standards for capital construction and facility projects. Reviews contractor submittals, requests for information, change proposals and other construction administration documents for design intent. Visually reviews and provides written comments on design plans and specifications prepared by consultant Engineers. Develops modifications to standard details, design guidelines and master specifications. Supports Construction Project management with construction administration and field engineering.Other duties as assigned.Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science or other construction related Architectural Engineering field or related discipline. Five years of project management/construction experience.
