Jacobs is NASA’s largest engineering solutions provider working together with NASA at centers across the United States.We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer - ISS Countermeasures to join the team with the Engineering Division.The ISS Countermeasures System (CMS) Project Engineer will:

Sustain the Treadmill 2 (T2) aboard the International Space Station (ISS) through hardware development, manufacturing, and assembly; in addition to troubleshooting anomalies and resupplying hardware.

Process ISS crew workout and hardware response data, analyzing and documenting results for presentation to customers.

Frequently perform hands-on hardware testing.

Work in a team environment, and report to project manager for technical support, task assignment, and processes.

Plan and execute hardware troubleshooting to investigate mechanical and electrical failures within flight hardware or test support hardware.

Generate essential paperwork and documents for tasks assigned, such as Task Performance Sheets (TPS), Discrepancy Reports (DR), and Detailed Test Procedures (DTP), as needed.

Track, verify, and test T2 treadmill system and sub-system requirements.

Perform data trending analyses.

Interact frequently with inter-organizational disciplines, NASA System Managers, and real-time operational customers.

Perform job functions based on pre-established guidelines or instructions.

Perform other duties as required.

Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2- 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Self-motivated, team player and adaptability to a dynamic environment and the ability to complete all assignments as required.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and will be expected to effectively interact with customers and management at all levels.

Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.

Must have the ability to visualize and work with complex mechanical/electrical systems and work with others in problem solving as part of a team.

Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

Requisition Preferences:

​Experience with NASA/JSC Class I flight hardware process and certification.

Experience with flight operations.

Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering background.

Familiarity with common hand tools and proficiency using them to perform assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting on mechanical systems.

Experience with Astronaut interface/communication.

Prior experience with hardware anomaly troubleshooting and failure analyses.

Experience with procedure development.

Familiar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures.

Co-op or Intern experience at JSC or other NASA agency.

Familiarity with the Engineering Life Cycle process.
