Company: RectorSeal HoustonDescriptionJob Overview:The Production Worker I is responsible for assisting in the manufacturing, assembling and preparation of products for shipment. Their duties include manufacturing of finished goods or using manufactured products from machines and vendors, aid in loading the assembly process, packaging finished products and organizing them for shipments and perform basic checks to ensure quality product and /or loads. This is an on-site hourly position and requires a daily presence at our Houston - Spenwick facility, which operates Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed to include weekends during peak seasons.RectorSeal manufactures and/or distributes a variety of mechanical products for the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing industries. For over 80 years, RectorSeal’s customers have depended on us for quality products with excellent value, shipped to them in a timely manner. This passion for excellent customer service is the reason RectorSeal has been growing at a very fast pace, and now requires additional shift capacity to meet customer demand.Key Responsibilities:
Follows all company-established rules and policies; adheres to all safety rules, quality standards, process documentation, and regulations.
Maintains all quality indicators for operations by verifying product quantity/quality according to company requirements.
Assists production personnel in accordance with instructions and specifications.
Able to complete tasks assigned on simple electronic machines.
Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
Makes Correct use of basic tools to complete tasks assigned.
Assemble and pack materials and equipment as required
Organizes and prepares goods for shipment
Performs support to general and performs basic adjustments and maintenance, as well as essential cleaning duties.
Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Perform other related duties as directed.
Preferred Requirements:
6+ Months of previous experience in a factory or a production role
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
Working knowledge manufacturing processes and equipment.
Skills/Competencies:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic computer skills to function in job role
Capable of reading and understanding direction, and read production documents
Basic math, reading, and writing skills
Willingness to comply with all safety guidelines at all times
Able to work 8 -12 hour shifts standing
Reliable and punctual
Able to work as part of a team
Available for shift work
Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires computer use.
