Description Growing Private Equity firm in Houston is looking to add a Controller to their team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and accounting processes for our largest fund with a complex entity structure. Fund Controller Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage financial operations and accounting processes.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax laws.

Coordinate and manage financial audits and tax filings, provisions, and audits.

Prepare, analyze, and provide accurate and timely financial statements and reports.

Develop and manage budgets and forecasts.

Provide financial insights and recommendations to management, investors, and other stakeholders.

Establish, maintain, and reassess internal controls in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Manage cash flow and liquidity.

Develop and monitor financial strategies to support the firm's objectives and financial performance.

Manage relationships with vendors, banks, auditors, tax preparers, fund administrators, and investors.

Stay current with financial regulations and industry trends and maintain professional certifications.

Manage special financial projects, finance initiatives, and other ad-hoc responsibilities and requests as needed.

Requirements

Fund Controller Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting; master’s degree in accounting, a plus.

CPA Required

8-10+ years of accounting experience with Big 4 accounting firms and Private Equity/Fund Accounting

Relevant experience with private equity firms and fund accounting with complex structures, a plus.

Experience in coordinating tax planning and compliance and working with external tax advisors.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Exceptional diligence and accuracy in financial preparation, analysis, and reporting.

Ability to maintain a positive and energetic attitude while working in a deadline-oriented environment.

Professional demeanor and effective communication skills, both written and oral.
