We work with a wide range of industries, including oil and gas, chemicals, power generation, and manufacturing.As a Control Systems Project Engineer here at Honeywell Process Solutions, you will be part of a team assessing, designing and implementing turbomachinery control solutions for our clients in our CCC (Compressor Controls) division. You will work closely with our customers to understand their requirements and develop customized control systems that optimize the performance and efficiency of their turbomachinery. Your expertise in control systems engineering and turbomachinery design will ensure the successful execution of projects from concept to completion.In this role, you will impact the success of our clients' operations by delivering innovative control solutions that enhance the performance and reliability of their turbomachinery. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of control systems into our clients' existing infrastructure.Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with customers to understand their turbomachinery control requirements and develop customized solutions.
Design and implement control systems that optimize the performance and efficiency of turbomachinery.
Review, Develop, and Prepare project documentation and drawings following standards, practices, and use of engineering tools as recommended by the department.
Configure and conduct tests on control systems and develop specifications for third party equipment and instrumentation.
Ensure ERP, Supporting Documentation, Time Allocation, and Scheduled activities are properly recorded
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for control systems during installation and commissioning.
Work to proactively identify customer solutions with tangible economic benefits.
Reinforce compliance to company’s standards and execution practices, proactively identify improvement opportunities and support company’s process improvement activities.
Assist in the development and scope of control strategies and software requirements.
Conduct system testing and validation to ensure the functionality and reliability of control systems.
May include occasional travel (10%) to customer locations along with Team Lead, Account Managers or Senior Engineer, as necessary, in order to perform pre-sale activities including, site surveys, customer meetings, preliminary design, scope definition and other engineering activities.
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in control systems engineering or a related field (Opening at the Engr II and/or Advanced Engr levels)
WE VALUE
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Knowledge of process control systems and their applications
Knowledge of turbomachinery control systems and their applications
Basic understanding of industrial instrumentation and related equipment.
Understanding of controls philosophy, techniques and engineering processes.
Project management skills and experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Knowledge of some of the following is of value:
Experience with control solutions in the oil and gas industry
Experience with chemical processes involving large turbomachinery (compressors and turbines)
Turbomachinery Drive End knowledge including Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Reciprocating Engines, Expanders and Electric Motors.
Proficiency in designing, integrating and troubleshooting industrial control systems using PLC and HMI.
Work End knowledge including, axial, centrifugal and reciprocating compressor, pumps and generators.
Process Applications including Anti-Surge, Load share, Performance, Speed/Extraction, and Generation/ GPP/ Excitation controls.
Knowledge of PLC programming and migrations.
Knowledge of HMI systems setup, architecture and industrial networking/communications.
Proficiency in programming languages such as: ladder, FBD (function block diagram), C/C, python, VBA.
