Bay Area Pet Adoptions/SPCA, NO-KILL Shelter in San Leon is looking for a hard-working, reliable kennel tech to provide quality daily care for the animals in our shelter. This position is 24+ hrs and will be crossed trained to work in the dog kennels and the cattery. The position requires daily deep cleaning and disinfecting of kennels, feeding, walking, bathing and socializing. You will also assist the Vet Technicians with medicating and monitoring sick, quarantined and injured animals. Candidates will also assist with adoptions and communicate with visitors to the shelter. Candidates must be at least 18, possess a strong work ethic, ability to multi-task and be part of a team. Must be able to do physical work and lift up to 50lbs. Must be available to work weekends and holidays. This is a small, welcoming work environment, so the ability to work well with others, communicate openly, be comfortable with all breeds/sizes, and show up consistently for your shift is extremely important. Shifts are either 8am-5Pm or 8am-1:30pm. Prior experience working in an animal care environment is preferred, but not necessary. Starting salary is $7.75 with a 90 day review and raise to $8.00.
