Accountant

Description We are seeking a diligent Accountant to join our team. This role is in the government sector need and required Government Accounting background. The Accountant will be responsible for managing accounting functions, maintaining the general ledger, and liaising with auditors for annual financial audits.Responsibilities: Oversee the monthly and annual accounting closure Produce comprehensive financial reports and perform reconciliations Work with auditors during the annual financial audit Assist in the preparation of budgets and tax rate calculations Maintain and update the general ledger regularly Use your proficiency in Microsoft Excel to organize and analyze data Apply your knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to keep accurate records Use your expertise in governmental accounting to comply with industry-specific regulations and standards.Requirements A strong understanding and application of Accounting Functions is necessary. Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) is required. Experience with handling Accounts Receivable (AR) is a must. Knowledge of and adherence to governmental accounting principles is essential. A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is expected. Prior experience in a government accounting role would be advantageous. Excellent numerical and analytical skills are fundamental for this position. Demonstrated ability to work with accounting software and databases is crucial. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are needed. The ability to work independently and meet deadlines is required. Good organizational skills for maintaining clear, accurate financial records are necessary. The candidate must be detail-oriented to ensure accuracy in reports and data analysis. Ethical conduct and confidentiality are expected in handling sensitive financial information. A commitment to continuous learning and development in the field of accounting is appreciated.
