Diploma or Equivalent is Required.· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Safety Engineering, Emergency Management, Fire Science, Decontamination, or related area Preferred.· 3 years of Emergency Management, Environment of Care, or related field Required.· Decontamination management experience Preferred.Skills:· Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised while achieving the stated goals and objectives.· Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc. Ability to prepare, modify and update training materials and deliver presentations, as required or necessary.· Apply professional judgement and utilize specialty skills and detailed scientific knowledge to provide a high quality and timely decontamination capability.What You Will Do:

Overall responsibility for planning , implementation and management of regulatory compliance with Environment of Care, Life Safety, Emergency Preparedness and Management. Plan and organize the broad range of activities, processes and procedures conducted by the specialty including future plans and strategies in conjunction with Decontamination team.

Ensures that the hospital maintains a current statement of conditions. Interpretation and enforcement of the Life Safety Code. Participates and assures hazard surveillance for building and grounds. Measures and evaluates the effectiveness of the environment of care plans using established objectives, scope, and performance improvement standards. Ensures capability to identify and evaluate hazards; be able to provide direction with respect to safety of operations; have the authority to alter, suspend or terminate decontamination response activity. Understand and direct minimum level of personal protective equipment for the First Receivers an be able to assist and lead Decontamination team in all levels of decontaminating victims and be in compliance with 29 CFR 1910.120 (q).

Documents, consistent with established protocol and guidelines, information on the department. Gives concise and pertinent reports regarding departmental information including rational explanations for actions/interventions based on current practice standards, and proven experience, etc. Manage and maintain documentation of certification/training requirements for al decontamination team members. Certify decontamination line and team for receipt of patients.

Works with other healthcare organizations , cities and emergency responders to ensure effective response to a community-wide emergency. Manage efforts to work with other THR facilities, healthcare organizations, cities and emergency responders in collaborative manner to ensure supplies and other resources are effectively managed in the event of an emergency situation.

Responsible for managing staff working with the decontamination specialties including interviewing, recruitment, training and specialty compensation; education and training of staff relevant to EOC issues. Coordinate and supervise a 24/7 certified decontamination team available to support hospital, ensuring all staffing, training and logistical requirements are maintained at all times.

Performs all duties/responsibilities of the Safety Officer and acts upon any conditions, which pose an immediate threat to life or health, or pose a threat of damage to equipment or buildings. Assures, coordinates, and participates in the implementation of the environment of care management plans: safety, security, hazardous materials and waste, decontamination and emergency preparedness, life safety, medical equipment, and utility systems.
