Job Description:
- Use equipment, such as meat grinders, saws, etc. to break down meat
- Preparing, trimming, weighing, and packing meat
- Cutting and boning carcasses
- Packaging meat and storing properly
- Maintain a working environment that is safe and efficient
- Stores product in accordance with health and safety guidelines
Experience Required:
- Knife experience or the ability and willingness to learn the methods and requirements of cutting
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
- Must be willing to work in a cold and damp work environment
- The ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English is essential
- Punctual with the desire to work early mornings. (6 AM start time)
- An Agricultural background with experience working with livestock is a strong asset
- Knowledgeable with primal, sub-primal, and retail cuts beef trim and ground is an asset
- The ability to stand for long periods of time on concrete floors is essential to success in this work environment
- A reliable vehicle with a valid Class G driver's license to commute to and from work daily as this position is not located near city transit.
